The first time I met with Chandra she was doing hair and makeup for a styled bridal shoot I was participating in. We spoke briefly that day, and then I had to head out and work on the building that was to become the home of Sweet Alice. A few weeks later, we sat down to discuss her upcoming nuptials.
One of the first things that struck me when we met for on consult was Chandra’s sense of style— a button down shirt with the sleeves rolled, and an oversized rose gold watch. Her style was sophisticated, yet edgy. She’s kind, thoughtful, and one of the most joyful people I’ve ever met. She had ideas of what she wanted, but was willing to hand the personal flower design over. Her exact words were, “Go wild.” What a blessing to hear from a client! So I went wild.
With a beautiful burgundy, peach and blue palette, and a free spirited style, I worked to create the feeling of edginess Chandra conveyed during our consultation. The variety of textures, tints and tones added complexity to the bouquets and boutonnieres. And that burgundy played so well off of Mark's jacket!
Deep gratitude to Chandra and Mark for the opportunity to create this work. It was a wonderful experience.
