Our Vision, Our Mission, & Minnesota Grown Flowers

If you’ve ever stopped by the shop on a summer Wednesday in the early afternoon, I’m certain you’ve found me or one of the team surrounded by gorgeous seasonal Minnesota grown blooms. If you’ve run into me, I can almost guarantee I’ve talked your ear off about the wonder and beauty of flowers grown in our state. The beauty of these flowers is one reason I’m so passionate about supplying you with Minnesota blooms. Seriously, look at these.

But my passion runs much deeper, beyond the beauty they bring to the world, deep into my values. Minnesota grown flowers allow Sweet Alice to walk our talk.

Our Vision:

Sweet Alice strives to provide the finest florals and art while maintaining our commitment to environmental, community and personal sustainability as we evolve.

Our Mission:

To inspire human expression and build community, one person and one beautiful bloom at a time.

Being sustainable is the core value Sweet Alice is built upon. We make the choice to buy and feature Minnesota grown blooms because it’s the most sustainable choice we can make, outside of growing ourselves (and we’re working on that).

In terms of environmental impact, Minnesota blooms don’t have to be flown in from Holland or Central America, reducing our carbon footprint. While we can’t source all of our blooms locally, we make small choices to reduce our carbon footprint today, and hope to be able to make more of those choices in the future. And those small steps add up to big impacts. In addition, the flowers we source from the Twin Cities Floral Exchange are organic, providing you with the opportunity to buy blooms that are grown as safely and sustainably as possible.

Minnesota grown blooms also support our communities. By purchasing from Minnesota growers, we keep our money in our state, and help our farmers and growers employ hundreds of people. That’s good for our economy, good for our communities, and good for our state.

Finally, Minnesota grown blooms give you more bang for your hard earned buck. Minnesota grown blooms don’t have far to travel to our shop, ensuring your bouquets are as fresh as can be. In addition, because you’re not paying for the cost of shipping blooms in from Holland or Central America, many stems cost less, meaning your dollar goes further.

The next time you call, ask for Minnesota grown blooms. Your wallet, your community and your planet will thank you for it.

Wishing you peace and joy,

Sara
