While design is my jam, flowers are a whole new medium for me. There's been so much to learn over the past ten months-- I took my hobby of propagating plants to fill my house to the level of propagating plants to fill a shop. I've been growing succulents, and lately have been experimenting with the tolerance of flowers. It's amazing to me what a living thing, cut off from its roots, is capable of surviving.
I'm the daughter of a scientist, strongly steeped in the experimental method. So when you decide to open a flower shop, what do you do? You experiment like crazy. I've treated flowers well, I've treated them poorly. I've processed them properly, I've processed them improperly. I've experimented with carefully tending to my blooms for the first week, and then letting go (like a normal human would). I know a good rose lasts longer than a good tulip, but it's freaking fascinating to watch the tulip grow and bloom within an arrangement or armature. I've started working with hand tied arrangements and bouquets-- this makes the care of the arrangement easier for you. My goal, as a floral artist, is to bring you the highest quality, freshest flowers in beautifully crafted arrangements that will last three weeks in your care. Seriously.
So I play. Everyday. I experiment, I learn, I grow. Because I want to make the mistakes, and share with you how to avoid them. So together we can bloom, beautifully.
